SkateBritain Tip: You are ordering in suregip boot/US size. We recommend that Women order their UK size directly to the US size- so if you are a UK6 you would order the US 6 FOR A GOOD SNUG FIT.
If you have a half size foot then go for the size up because they are a snug fit.
It took some time to choose these ... and which size?
First, I take 9.5 UK (long foot and quite wide) so bought size 10 as they are US sizing. These are approximately 9UK, so they are snug but not uncomfortably so - 11 would definitely be too big. There is a bit of give in the boot too, so don't go up another size!
There is quite a lot of criticism about the hardness of wheels on forums, with many saying that they skid on smooth floors unless you are heavy: I'm not and they don't! There is no need to buy softer wheels unless you are going to head outdoors, in which case I'd recommend a second set.
I have a very low instep: the boot is very well padded and I haven't had a problem, except that (for me) the strap is far too long. I'll be adding more Velcro soon!
All in all a great skate: looks good, great for speed and highly recommended.
Pros - very comfortable, great price point , excellent entry level skate for roller derby .
cons- wheels are hard and quite slippery on most sports hall surfaces ( some may like them this way).
SkateBritain review- Great value skate that is a favourite amongst roller derby folk.
The synthetic leather boot does stretch out in length and width, so make sure you buy them snug. this makes them ideal for people with average to wide feet.
The plates are plastic but they are strong and light, the trucks are metal. They are surprisingly stable and sure footed for a skate of their price.
conclusion- If you are are looking for a comfortable, well priced skate, these are a proven favourite.
